Brad Pitt<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about his current relationship with alcohol.<\/p>\n

In an Esquire<\/em><\/a> profile published Monday, August 10, journalist Ryan D\u2019Agostino<\/strong> pointed out that Pitt, 62, offered him wine earlier in their conversation <\/a>and asked whether alcohol was just for guests.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, I got \u2014 I was sober for seven years. And then I got back off the wagon,\u201d Pitt replied with a \u201clittle laugh\u201d before raising his eyebrows and holding up a finger. \u201cIn a more restrained manner. I got overconfident a couple times, went, \u2018Yep, nope, not good for me.\u2019 Not in big quantities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pitt went on to explain that he \u201ccan have a few\u201d glasses of wine, but he has a limit.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tBrad Pitt has a journey with sobriety over the years. Pitt attended Alcoholics Anonymous in 2016 following an incident on a private jet with his family which led to a child abuse investigation. One week after the news broke, Angelina Jolie, whom Pitt married in 2014, filed for divorce. (Jolie and Pitt\u2019s divorce continued in [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cBut I can\u2019t have a lot,\u201d he explained. \u201cI have to be professional about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pitt has been candid about his sobriety through the years, attending Alcoholics Anonymous in 2016 after an incident on a private jet with his family that led to a child abuse investigation. He was cleared by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services later that year. (One week after news broke of the incident, Angelina Jolie<\/strong> filed for divorce from Pitt. The pair\u2019s proceedings were finalized in 2024<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\u201cPersonally, I can\u2019t remember a day since I got out of college when I wasn\u2019t boozing or had a spliff or something. Something. And you realize that a lot of it is, um \u2014 cigarettes, you know, pacifiers. And I\u2019m running from feelings,\u201d he told GQ<\/em> in 2017.<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cI\u2019m really, really happy to be done with all of that. I mean, I stopped everything except boozing when I started my family. But even this last year, you know \u2014 things I wasn\u2019t dealing with. I was boozing too much. It\u2019s just become a problem. And I\u2019m really happy it\u2019s been half a year now, which is bittersweet, but I\u2019ve got my feelings in my fingertips again.\u201d<\/p>\n
