\nBox Office: ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Flies to Third-Biggest Second Weekend of All Time With $144 Million https:\/\/t.co\/BOYPF0eePE<\/a><\/p>\n

Spider-Man: Brand New Day <\/b>may have been a tiny bit front-loaded, but it sure has second weekend staying power. The film made $145 million domestic in its second weekend of release, good enough for the third best second weekend of all time, trailing just Star Wars: The Force Awakens<\/b> ($149 million) and Avengers: Endgame<\/b> ($147 million). So far, Brand New Day<\/b> has pulled in $655 million domestic and $1.67 billion worldwide in two weekends of release.<\/p>\n
The Odyssey<\/b> continues to perform well, making $31.5 million in its fourth weekend of release, falling just 38% from last weekend. So far, it has made $461 million domestically and $1.1 billion globally, making it the top grossing Christopher Nolan film of all time. The film still hasn’t opened in China, which should add a considerable sum to its worldwide totals.<\/p>\n
In third spot was One Night Only<\/b>, the much discussed dystopian romantic comedy, which made $5.7 million. Director Will Gluck’s previous film, Anyone But You<\/b>, opened to a similar $6 million in 2023, but had great legs that propelled it to $88 million domestically and $220 million worldwide by the end of its run. The studio is obviously hoping for this film to have similarly good legs.<\/p>\n
Super Troopers 3<\/b> opened in the fourth spot with $4 million, the lowest opening in the trilogy. The film received a B- Cinemascore, and has a 48% on Rotten Tomatoes.<\/p>\n
In fifth place was Toy Story 5<\/b> with $3.9 million, still hanging around in the top five after a huge opening and eight weekends of release.<\/p>\n
Eli Roth’s The Ice Cream Man<\/b> only made $2 million in 1600 theaters. The AI usage throughout the film was widely reported before it opened, and perhaps turned off some audiences.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Tony<\/b> and Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma<\/b> both opened in extremely limited release, bringing in $348,995 and $251,500 on 6 and 5 screens, respectively.<\/p>\n
