Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/em><\/strong><\/a> is soaring to new heights day after day.<\/p>\n

The latest Tom Holland<\/strong><\/a> and Zendaya<\/strong><\/a>-helmed Spider-Man<\/strong><\/a> installment collected $144.5 million at the domestic box office in its second weekend.<\/p>\n

As Variety<\/em><\/a> points out, only Toy Story 5<\/em><\/strong><\/a> brought in that much this year in a single weekend – and that was its opening weekend at $159 million. <\/p>\n

As a result, Brand New Day <\/em>has now climbed to become the third biggest second weekend in domestic box office history, just behind 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens<\/em> ($149 million) and 2019’s Avengers: Endgame<\/em> ($147 million). <\/p>\n

There are only eight movies that even passed the $100 million mark in its second weekend.<\/p>\n

As of right now, the movie has brought in $1.67 billion globally<\/strong> in less than two full weeks at theaters, and may become the first movie ever to get to $3 billion at the global box office.<\/p>\n

2009’s Avatar<\/em> currently holds the worldwide record with $2.9 billion.<\/p>\n
