Meghan Markle<\/strong><\/a> and Prince Harry<\/strong><\/a> are stepping out for the night in Canada!<\/p>\n

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex posed for photos together on the red carpet as they arrived at the David Foster Foundation 40th Anniversary Celebration<\/strong><\/em> on Friday night (August 7) in Victoria, British Columbia.<\/p>\n

For the event, Meghan<\/strong>, 45, looked chic in a black dress by Canadian designer Greta Constantine<\/em> and accessorized the look with diamond and sapphire earrings that once belonged to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana<\/strong>. Harry<\/strong>, 41, coordinated in a black tux and bowtie.<\/p>\n

As they arrived at the event, they posed with host David Foster<\/strong><\/a> and his wife Katharine McPhee<\/strong><\/a>. The 76-year-old music producer and the 42-year-old singer has been good friends with the couple for years.<\/p>\n

In 2019, David<\/strong> arranged for Harry<\/strong> and Meghan<\/strong> to stay at a mansion on Vancouver Island<\/a> owned by a close friend, although he declined to name the owner.<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt honored that I was able to help Meghan there because I\u2019m a Canadian, and we\u2019re a Commonwealth country; we\u2019re the Crown\u2019s. It\u2019s important to us, so I grew up with that kind of sentiment,\u201d David<\/strong> told the Daily Mail<\/em><\/a> in 2020. \u201cI was really happy to be able to help them to find a respite just to take a little time off.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cThe owner has allowed this to happen through me, and I was happy to facilitate. I don\u2019t know what their next plans are, but I know that it was reinvigorating for them to spend some downtime. This is a great testament to my hometown of Victoria that they were able to go under the radar for so long.\u201d<\/p>\n

Katharine<\/strong> actually grew up with Meghan<\/strong> and did musicals together when they were younger! The American Idol<\/em> alum’s older sister Adriana <\/strong>went to the same school in Los Angeles with the Suits<\/em> actress.<\/p>\n
