Former president Joe Biden<\/b><\/a>\u2019s son Hunter Biden <\/b>is offering an update on his father\u2019s ongoing cancer battle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really tough, and that\u2019s the real answer,\u201d Hunter, 56, told the BBC<\/span><\/a> in a Friday, August 7, interview when asked about Joe\u2019s health. \u201cMy dad, to this day, remains the center of our family not just because of who he is as a public person but completely because of who he is to each one of us. It\u2019s really, really hard and it\u2019s really sad to watch.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joe, 83, shared sons Beau and Hunter<\/a>, as well as daughter Naomi, with late first wife Nealia Biden<\/b>. Nealia and Naomi were killed in a 1972 car accident, while Beau died in 2015 after battling glioblastoma. The politician also shares daughter Ashley, 45, with wife Dr. Jill Biden<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Joe was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer<\/span><\/a> in May 2025, with his office noting in a statement that the tumor had spread to the bones.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tFormer President Joe Biden has begun his battle with what his office called an \u201caggressive\u201d form of prostate cancer. \u201cLast week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms,\u201d a statement sent from Biden\u2019s personal office to CNN in May 2025, read. \u201cOn Friday, he [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThe cancer has spread [and] metastasized into his bones and further. It\u2019s very painful,\u201d Hunter added on Friday. \u201cIt\u2019s very debilitating in many respects, but he\u2019s still out there. He\u2019s still doing this thing [because] he still believes in this country.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hunter\u2019s stepmother, 75-year-old Jill, revealed two months earlier how Joe\u2019s cancer battle had affected his daily work commitments.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s doing OK. He does have stage IV cancer. It has metastasized to his bones. He will forever have cancer. He will forever be on medicine, and he\u2019s 83,\u201d Jill said on a June appearance on Jay Shetty<\/b>\u2019s \u201cOn Purpose\u201d podcast<\/span><\/a>. \u201cYou put that mix in, so, [while] yes, he\u2019s still working, he\u2019s writing his book, he\u2019s traveling, he\u2019s speaking, but he\u2019s a little more tired. I\u2019ve seen him slow down. I mean, cancer really takes a toll.\u201d<\/p>\n
