The iconic band Earth, Wind & Fire<\/strong><\/a> canceled their concert on Thursday night (August 6) due to a “medical emergency involving a member of their band” and now more details have been revealed. <\/p>\n

EWF<\/strong> is currently touring with Lionel Richie<\/strong><\/a> and they were scheduled to play San Francisco’s Chase Center on Thursday. When fans arrived at the venue, they discovered that the concert had been postponed. <\/p>\n

The medical emergency did not involved any of the longtime members of the group who are still performing: Verdine White<\/strong>, Philip Bailey<\/strong>, or Ralph Johnson<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

John Paris suffered a medical emergency<\/h3>\n

TMZ<\/a> has learned that the band’s current drummer, John Paris<\/strong><\/a>, is the person who suffered a medical emergency. He has been performing with the band since 2001. <\/p>\n

The San Francisco Fire Department confirmed the news to TMZ and said a “fire engine and private ambulance responded to the venue for a cardiac incident, and one person was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.”<\/p>\n

It’s unclear how he’s doing at the moment and we’re sending our best wishes for a speedy recovery. <\/p>\n

The tour is currently set to continue with shows on August 8 in Palm Desert, but it’s unknown if those shows will be postponed or not. <\/p>\n
