Katseye is temporarily losing another group member nearly six months after Manon Bannerman<\/strong> went on a hiatus.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt truly breaks my heart to have to miss out on a lot,\u201d Sophia Laforteza<\/strong> wrote via her Instagram Stories on Friday, August 7, while announcing her decision to take a break from Katseye. \u201cYou know how much I love being on stage, performing, and sharing these moments with you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Laforteza, 23, alluded to health issues playing a role in her decision to take a step back from the limelight.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaking this decision wasn\u2019t easy, but I\u2019m learning that health has to come first,\u201d she continued. \u201cI\u2019m realizing that if I don\u2019t take care of my mind and body now, I won\u2019t be able to keep doing what I love the most for so long.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tManon Bannerman has made her Coachella debut \u2014 but not with Katseye. The Swiss singer, 23, joined fellow artist PinkPantheress on the Mojave stage at Coachella on Saturday, April 18. Janelle Mon\u00e1e, Tyriq Withers, Chase Infiniti, Slayyyter and Zara Larsson also joined the star-studded set. PinkPantheress, 25, sported a custom Pink Wink Bra for the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The singer concluded, \u201cThank you for being so patient, understanding, and always showing me so much love. It means more to me than I could ever say. I promise I\u2019m going to work as hard as I can to get through this, heal properly, and come back stronger. \u2018Til then, please continue to be kind and give KATSEYE all your love and support as we fulfill our promise to show up for you in every way we can. Laforteza has served as Katseye\u2019s leader since the band formed through the reality survival show The Debut: Dream Academy<\/em> under HYBE and Geffen Records in 2023.<\/p>\n

Laforteza\u2019s decision to step back from Katseye comes after Bannerman, 24, announced her own hiatus<\/a> from the group in February.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter open and thoughtful conversations together, we are sharing that Manon will be taking a temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her health and wellbeing,\u201d a statement from the band read on the social media platform Weverse. \u201cWe fully support this decision. KATSEYE remains committed to showing up for one another and for the fans who mean everything to us. The group will continue scheduled activities during this time, and we look forward to being together again when the time is right.\u201d<\/p>\n

In her own statement, Bannerman reassured fans that she was OK.<\/p>\n

\u201cHi friends,\u201d she wrote via Weverse. \u201cI want you to hear this from me, I\u2019m healthy, I\u2019m OK and I\u2019m taking care of myself. Thank u for checking in!
