The 36-year-old actress has fond memories of living in the city and she feels some “depressive withdrawals” whenever the time comes to leave.<\/p>\n

The brunette beauty – who is dating fellow Hollywood star Andrew Garfield<\/a> – told Interview magazine: “The most fun nights out have been in New York.<\/p>\n

“I sometimes wonder if that\u2019s because I always dream of coming back and living in New York. I actually go through depressive withdrawals every time I leave. I felt that way in December when we finished filming. It\u2019s a super romantic city. It\u2019s so fun to go on dates in this city.”<\/p>\n

Monica observed that the Big Apple “feels really tapped into the universe”.<\/p>\n

\nShe explained: “I actually weirdly run into friends here more than anywhere else. It just feels really tapped into the universe, telling you you need to see or meet this person.”<\/p>\n

\nMeanwhile, Monica previously played Joan Baez in A Complete Unknown, the 2024 biographical film about the early career of Bob Dylan.<\/p>\n

\nThe actress described meeting Baez as a “trippy” experience.<\/p>\n

\nSpeaking to the Guardian newspaper, Monica explained: “It was so strange to hear in person the voice I\u2019d been obsessing over for so long. There\u2019s a worship quality to it; I felt in complete awe of her. It was kind of a whirlwind moment.<\/p>\n

\n“We\u2019ve kept in touch. I think now, with all the pressure off, it would be really cool to sit down with her for an afternoon and just talk. I can hear her songs again and not panic.”<\/p>\n

\nMonica earned a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for her role in the film and she described the achievement as “totally surreal”.<\/p>\n

\nThe actress – who starred alongside Timothee Chalamet, Edward Norton and Elle Fanning in the movie – said: “It seemed embarrassing to want it, or celebrate it, and I needed to confront that it was something I\u2019d love to have. Then, when it happened \u2013 unbridled joy.”<\/p>\n
