Sen. Mitch McConnell<\/strong><\/a> is sharing a new health update.<\/p>\n

On Thursday (August 6), the 84-year-old Kentucky Senator released a statement, revealing that he has been discharged from a rehabilitation center where he was recovering after a 53-day hospitalization<\/a> following a serious fall at his home in Washington, DC.<\/p>\n

“Earlier today, I was discharged from the rehabilitation center to continue my recovery at home,” McConnell <\/strong>shared, per CNN<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“[Wife] Elaine [Chao] <\/strong>and I are grateful for the many well wishes and support from friends, colleagues, and Kentuckians, and for the attentive care I\u2019ve received from excellent doctors, nurses, therapists, and hospital staff,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the advice of my doctors, I\u2019ll maintain an intensive regimen of physical therapy from home during the state work period, and I\u2019ll continue to engage with my staff and colleagues on important Senate business,\u201d McConnell<\/strong> concluded.<\/p>\n

McConnell <\/strong>was first admitted into the hospital back on June 14 and there have been a lot of rumors surrounding his health. At one point, some reports alleged that he was brain dead<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On July 12, he released a statement about his health<\/a>, sharing, “My doctors have confirmed that I didn\u2019t break any bones or suffer a concussion. I didn\u2019t have a heart attack or a stroke. I don\u2019t have any tumors or hemorrhages. But I was briefly unconscious and was taken to the hospital. While receiving excellent care over the past several weeks, I\u2019ve also had to deal with a mild case of pneumonia.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also included a photo of himself and his wife Elaine <\/strong>in the hospital, but many questioned the authenticity of the photo, believing that it might have been AI-generated. Digital forensics expert then investigated the photo, concluding that it was real<\/a>.<\/p>\n
