Hey now, Hilary Duff <\/b><\/a>and ex Joel Madden<\/b><\/a>\u2019s post-split friendship is precisely what dreams are made of.<\/p>\n

Duff, 38, brought her Lucky Me Tour <\/i><\/a>to New York City\u2019s Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, August 5, where she enlisted Madden\u2019s Good Charlotte for a special duet.<\/p>\n

In addition to Duff\u2019s setlist of Luck\u2026 or Something<\/i> tracks and throwback hits, the pop star rocked out with Joel, 47, and brother Benji Madden <\/b>for a rendition of 2002\u2019s \u201cThe Anthem,\u201d per social media footage<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Later during the show, per In Style<\/i><\/span><\/a> <\/i>clips, Duff changed into a vintage Good Charlotte T-shirt to perform \u201cWhy Not.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tHilary Duff and Matthew Koma got in on the Halloween fun by dressing up as her ex Joel Madden and his twin brother, Benji Madden. \u201cGoing as @benjaminadden and @joelmadden to a Halloween dinner with @joelmadden and @nicolerichie,\u201d Koma, 37, wrote via Instagram Stories on Wednesday, October 30, alongside a photo of him and Duff, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cFAMILY NIGHT @ MSG. CONGRATS @hilaryduff,\u201d Benji, 47, wrote via his Instagram Stories following the concert, sharing a backstage selfie with his brother, Duff and her husband, Matthew Koma<\/b>. Joel\u2019s wife, Nicole Richie<\/b>, was also present for the nostalgia-induced evening.<\/p>\n

Long before Duff and Madden found love with Koma, 39, and Richie, 44, respectively, they dated from 2004 to 2006. The now-exes have since remained on friendly terms.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a good relationship with their whole family. We actually hang out all the time,\u201d the Younger<\/i> alum recalled on a 2023 episode<\/span><\/a> of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. <\/i>\u201cI was just in [Nicole\u2019s] driveway, honking for her to come drink wine with us the other day. \u2026 Now, we get them to hike together all the time. And you know what? It\u2019s lovely.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joel, for his part, had also been candid about staying cordial with Duff<\/a> long before their MSG duet.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery girl I\u2019ve ever dated I have respect for, and I always try to leave them [on] good terms,\u201d Joel told People<\/i><\/span><\/a> <\/i>in 2007. \u201cI don\u2019t see the necessity to be friends with anyone you\u2019ve dated but definitely out of respect of the time, you have to be kind of respectful and that\u2019s what I try to do.\u201d<\/p>\n
