Brad Pitt’s lawyers ask Angelina Jolie to hand over movie earning records<\/p>\n
Legal documents obtained by Us Weekly on Tuesday (04.08.26) include a request from Pitt\u2019s lawyers – made during a court hearing on July 31 – that Jolie should provide \u201cdocuments sufficient to show her income\u201d, particularly from 2017 to 2019. <\/p>\n
The legal team added that they are \u201cnot even seeking all of her profit statements \u2026 just seeking statements that show for films they are already in the money and she is receiving payments\u201d. <\/p>\n
Among the movies Jolie starred in during that period were 2019\u2019s\u00a0Maleficent: Mistress of Evil according to IMDB (the Internet Movie Database). <\/p>\n

The former couple, who share six children, are currently in the midst of a legal battle over Ch\u00e2teau Miraval, the French winery they owned together from 2008 to 2021. <\/p>\n
\nPitt was the first to file a legal suit against his ex, alleging that he and his former wife had a \u201ctwo-party consent agreement\u201d in place, but Jolie hit back with a countersuit, stating that there was no such agreement, and claiming she had attempted to buyout the actor\u2019s shares in the winery, but alleged Pitt refused unless she signed an NDA (non-disclosure agreement). <\/p>\n
\nIn response to the new request from Pitt\u2019s lawyers, Jolie\u2019s legal team argued that the financial information that has been requested is not relevant to their dispute. <\/p>\n
\nThe request is the latest in a string of back and forth between the exes\u2019 legal teams, with Jolie\u2019s lawyers previously stating that the actress had \u201clargely put her career on hold, forgoing years of compensation in the process\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nWhile the new request will help put Jolie\u2019s \u201ccoercion\u201d and \u201ceconomic leverage\u201d claims into \u201ccontext\u201d, her legal team said. <\/p>\n
\nJolie\u2019s lawyers then hit back, arguing that the \u201centire basis for Pitt compelling these answers is a made-up theory that Jolie did not allege\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nThe response continued, \u201cPitt claims that Jolie has put her entire financial condition at issue going back to 2017 because of her allegation that she was seeking \u2018financial independence.\u2019 <\/p>\n
\n\u201cBut Pitt\u2019s selective quote misleadingly fails to include the entirety of her allegation. Jolie does not allege that she was seeking financial independence in the abstract; she alleges that she was seeking \u2018financial independence from her ex-husband.\u2019 <\/p>\n
\n\u201cSeparating from one\u2019s ex-husband is categorically different from an allegation that one is suffering general financial distress.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nPitt and Jolie split in 2016, with their divorce finalised in December 2024.<\/p>\n
