Scott recalled being surprised when Taylor, 36, reached out to him.<\/p>\n
\nThe actor explained: “She just picked up the phone and called me.<\/p>\n
\n“She called and I had no pre-warning. You know, a lot of times people are like, \u2018Hey, somebody wants to call you.\u2019 And then they call you, right? But she\u2019s like, \u2018Hey, this is Taylor Swift.\u2019 [I\u2019m like], \u2018OK, prove it!\u2019”<\/p>\n
\nScott was “intrigued” by the video’s concept and by Taylor’s ambition.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: “I was intrigued because of the creative behind the video, mostly.<\/p>\n
\n“She wanted to do, like, an out-of-Africa type thing. It was this cinematic film and the music industry, they don\u2019t do that anymore.<\/p>\n
\n“It\u2019s not the \u201890s and we don\u2019t have these big sort of videos. There\u2019s only a couple of artists, like Taylor Swift, [where] you can do that or afford to make these sort of things.”<\/p>\n
\nScott is the son of Hollywood icon Clint Eastwood – but he previously played down suggestions that his family ties have helped his career.<\/p>\n
\nThe movie star told the Irish Times newspaper: “To be honest, the film business is not a business where, just because your dad is an actor, you get to be an actor. It’s like any other line of work. It’s all built on reputation and on your work ethic. <\/p>\n
\n“There are a ton of talented people out there. But they are too hard to work with. Or they are a pain in the a**. Or they just don’t have the drive or dedication. It doesn’t matter who you are: it doesn’t mean they are going to be putting you in movies. You can’t just show up.”<\/p>\n
