Tate McRae<\/strong><\/a> was asked about political leanings in a new interview.<\/p>\n

If you don’t know, the 23-year-old entertainer faced allegations that she’s a MAGA Republican when she collaborated with Morgan Wallen on the song \u201cWhat I Want.”<\/a><\/p>\n

She further faced MAGA allegations when she was linked to hockey player Jack Hughes<\/strong><\/a>. Hughes <\/strong>famously made headlines for associating with Trump<\/strong> during the Team USA men\u2019s hockey\u2019s Olympic gold medal run. Trump<\/strong>, now infamously, called the team after their win, made a “joke” about the women’s hockey team, and invited the men to the White House. Here’s how Jack Hughes <\/strong>responded to the backlash.<\/a><\/p>\n

In a conversation with Variety<\/em><\/a>, she explained why she’s not been vocally outspoken about the claims.<\/p>\n

\u201cI like to say my piece through organizations I support and the environment that I have on tour. I think it\u2019s pretty obvious what kind of person I am and the things I support. And I hope that my fans can see that through the things that I\u2019m putting my energy towards,” she told the mag. Variety<\/em> noted an example of this, citing: “She posted a TikTok advertising a \u201cLittle Miss Possessive\u201d hoodie, with a portion of proceeds going to The Trevor Project, a nonprofit focusing on suicide prevention for LGBTQ+ youth, and Global Fund for Women.”<\/p>\n

About her relationship status, she added, \u201cI try to keep my relationships as sacred and private as possible. I love the people in my life. They love me. You just try to keep that circle as positive and supportive as possible. And the outside noise, I can\u2019t do anything about that. Focusing my energy on something that I can\u2019t control, it just puts me in a bad mood.\u201d<\/p>\n
