During the Sunday, August 2, episode of the hit Paramount+ series<\/a>, Joe (Zoe Salda\u00f1a<\/strong>) was kidnapped after a past attempt six months prior went unsuccessful. This introduced a shakeup for the show, as the remaining nine episodes will follow Joe\u2019s team as they try to find her \u2014 and bring her back alive.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnytime that you bring anything closer to home, it ramps the stakes,\u201d Michael Kelly (Byron Westfield<\/strong>) exclusively told Us<\/em>. \u201cYou have one of your own in that sort of situation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelly, 57, noted that the ramifications would be huge, adding, \u201cIt can\u2019t help but to just make everything, the tension, the action, the excitement. It\u2019s already an edge-of-your-seat kind of show. I think when you add that element to it, people are going to freak out.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt just becomes so personal. Now it\u2019s their boss,\u201d Laysla De Oliveira<\/strong> (Cruz) teased to Us<\/em>. \u201cIt\u2019s somebody that they care about.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jill Wagner<\/strong> (Bobby) agreed during the joint interview, adding, \u201cIt gets very very personal. When you get that close to one of your own, then it gets a lot more focused and fierce. I think the team is activated in a way that they\u2019ve never been activated.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ahead of the show\u2019s return<\/a>, Us also got Thad Luckinbill<\/strong> to weigh in on how Joe\u2019s absence affects his character, Kyle McManus: \u201cThere\u2019s such a connection between those two \u2014 whether it\u2019s siblings or more \u2014 but there is a direct connection. He continued: \u201cKyle is this guy that his goal at the end of the day when he wakes up and goes to bed is to fulfill his duty. But when it comes to Joe, that\u2019s the first time I think you\u2019ve seen the personal relationship there. It means more. It means more to Kyle to get this job done. He\u2019s still Kyle. He\u2019s still going to do it that way. But I love that he wrote that this year.\u201d<\/p>\n
