As you might recall ‘Wonder Man’ was renewed for Season 2 in March 2026. The lead, Yahya Abdul-Mateen, was nominated for an Emmy; out of nowhere, the Season 2 renewal got yanked away a few days ago. Fans have been speculating about what happened and if Wonder Man\/Yahya Abdul-Mateen is being moved to the movie world instead. Clearly fed up with the nonsense, the Showrunner went on TikTok to clear up what happened and respond to the rumours<\/p>\n

– There is no movie in the works.
– Everyone enjoyed making the show and passionately wanted to carry on.
– Contracts were signed, schedules were cleared, writers’ room was supposed to start this month, production was supposed to begin early next year.
– Disney and Marvel said this didn’t make sense for them even though a few months ago it did.
– Even though the writer’s room hadn’t started, he had written the first episode of season 2 and had a season outline, and everyone felt good about it.<\/p>\n

He appreciated everyone getting out there and the conversations being had about the kind of stories and shows being prioritised, and he hopes people are listening and he hopes Emmy voters are thinking about Yahya and how much he deserves an Emmy for this work.<\/p>\n
