\nThe Call Her Daddy podcast host and her 42-year-old husband, film producer Matt Kaplan, are expecting their first child together, and Alex clapped back at the Instagram user over his direct message (DM) after she revealed her gestational diabetes diagnosis.<\/p>\n
\nShe took to her Instagram Stories on Sunday (02.08.26) and shared a screenshot of the troll’s message, which read: “Don’t complain about being pregnant. Your choice. Pregnancy can be hard.”<\/p>\n
\nResponding, Alex, 31, said: “‘Pregnancy can be hard.’ Oh Chris tell me about your pregnancy I would love to hear babe! (sic)”<\/p>\n

\nShe added: “Just wanted to share all the dms I get like this…are from men lol (sic).”<\/p>\n
\nLast month, Alex – who announced her pregnancy in May – revealed she has been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, which, according to the National Health Service (NHS), is “high blood sugar (glucose) that develops during pregnancy and usually disappears after giving birth”.<\/p>\n
\nIn a video posted on Instagram, she said: “I\u2019m not gonna cry on the internet because I\u2019ve never cried on the internet, but when I tell you, I almost did. <\/p>\n
\n“I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. It is when the placenta hormones cause insulin resistance, a.k.a., your pancreas cannot create enough insulin to keep your blood sugar normal.<\/p>\n
\n“I was told anyone can get this no matter what your prior weight, diet, fitness level – literally anyone is susceptible to getting it.”<\/p>\n
\nAlex admitted she initially felt alone when she was diagnosed with the high blood sugar condition, which “can happen at any stage of pregnancy, but is more common in the second or third trimester”, the NHS says.<\/p>\n
\nThe star added: “When I got this diagnosis, the first couple days, I was really hard on myself and it felt very isolating. As much as my family and my husband and everyone was there for me, I just felt like it\u2019s me on an island. <\/p>\n
\n“This diagnosis was so upsetting, I think, because during pregnancy there\u2019s already so much emotionally that you\u2019re going through. <\/p>\n
\n“I have been so blessed, and there\u2019s been so many incredible parts of my pregnancy, but it\u2019s a lot.”<\/p>\n
\nWhile Alex’s main priority is her and Matt’s child, she hopes that sharing her experience with gestational diabetes will make other women dealing with the condition feel less alone.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “Obviously my first instinct is, ‘Oh my god I want my child to be OK, and I want my baby to be healthy, and I\u2019ll do whatever it takes.’ <\/p>\n
\n“If there\u2019s another woman out there that\u2019s going through this right now – honey, I see you more than I\u2019ve ever seen you.”<\/p>\n
