Gethin Jones<\/a>, one of the Welsh team officials, said: \u201cOh please, please can we absolutely make that happen.\u201d<\/p>\n\nPara-athlete Olivia Breen joked: “It\u2019s that or you have to run the London marathon.”<\/p>\n
\nWilliam replied: \u201cFair enough. Well if that\u2019s the ultimatum, riding a tandem bike, definitely!\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAnd when the five were given a goodie bag featuring the Welsh cycling outfit, Olivia joked the prince and princess could wear them when they ride the tandem, prompting William to quip: \u201cYou know me and Lycra!\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHe pulled the top out of the bag, only to find he was clutching one of the children’s outfits and he joked: \u201cI won\u2019t whip the shorts out.”<\/p>\n
\nGethin then asked the children: \u201cWould you like to see mum and dad on a tandem in the velodrome later?\u201d<\/p>\n
\nWithout hesitation, George exclaimed: “No!”<\/p>\n
\nHis mother burst out laughing, while his father admitted: <\/p>\n
\nGeorge immediately replied: \u201cNo!\u201d<\/p>\n
\nKate, seated beside him, burst out laughing while his father admitted: \u201cWe embarrass you enough as it is.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe children also discussed their own sporting achievements, though Louis admitted his had been belittled by his sister.<\/p>\n
\nAs they spoke to gymnasts, Catherine turned to her youngest son and said: \u201cLouis, you\u2019re perfecting your handstand at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHe replied: \u201cA bit. But Charlotte says I\u2019m no good.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nTwin gymnasts Abigail and Emily Roper asked if Charlotte can do one and she confirmed she could, but when George was asked if he could do a handstand, he and Catherine laughed as he said: \u201cI\u2019m rubbish at anything that involves flexibility.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nCharlotte – who was presented with a signed leotard – told the twins her favourite part of gymnastics is the floor and her mother added: \u201cCharlotte likes her dancing.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nWilliam said: \u201cShe loves gymnastics and ballet.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAs Catherine stayed with the gymnasts, William and the children sat down with Olivia, fellow para-athlete Aled Davies, and 400m runner Charlotte Henrich.<\/p>\n
\nLouis told them he had recently taken part in his first sports day at school, while George revealed his favourite event is javelin.<\/p>\n
\nAs Catherine joined them at the table, she was told: \u201cLouis was saying he likes high jump.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nShe asked: \u201cLouis, you like high jump?\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHe replied he did and William joked: \u201cThat\u2019s news to us!\u201d<\/p>\n
