This did not bode well with John Sylvia, the owner of Four Winds Craft Guild, a local artisan shop. For reference, they sell baskets that cost $3,400<\/a>. So, Sylvia posted a “No Influencers”<\/a> sign in the shop. And WHEW<\/i>, this pissed off the influencers! <\/p>\n Lorenze wrote lengthy Instagram comment accusing the sign of being “anti-feminist” and “mocking women.”<\/a> Other influencers said that hating influencers is form of hating women<\/a>, that the sign uses the word influencers a “derogatory term”,<\/a> and called it “discrimination,”<\/a> comparing it to singling out people based on race, religion, and gender. Yet another TikToker called it, “one of the best marketing strategies I’ve ever seen in my life.”<\/a><\/p>\n It has apparently become a huge topic<\/a> among not only influencers but also the elite upper-crusty types of Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, and other fancy East Coast places (I am not familiar, obviously.) There is a huge debate about whether influencers are bad for Nantucket<\/a> or whether Nantucket is being misogynist and snooty. (Snooty, yes, misogynist…?)<\/span> Everyone from Bethenny Frankel<\/a> to Dave Portnoy<\/a> has weighed in.
