The Exorcist star’s abode was the subject of an “investigative warrant” as part of a joint investigation between the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control and the Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning, who were looking into a reported kennel operation.<\/p>\n
According to TMZ, Linda has a permit to house 60 dogs, but the officials found 200 pooches on the property, an apparent violation, though none of the animals were taken away.<\/p>\n
A statement from the Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC) explained the kennel facility’s permits had expired in 2023 and attempts by both agencies to contact the owner since then had gone unanswered.<\/p>\n

They said: \u201cThe goal is to inspect this property for buildings and structures associated with a kennel operation reported to have more than 100 dogs.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe warrant allows us to lawfully access the property and verify compliance with County codes.”<\/p>\n
\nThe department’s role during the investigation was to evaluate \u201canimal care, safety conditions, and overall welfare of the dogs housed on the property.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThey added: \u201cOur priority is the safety and well-being of both the animals on the property and the people who may be working or residing here.<\/p>\n
\n \u201cThis inspection will help us determine whether conditions meet required standards.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAs this is an active and ongoing investigation, DACC is not able to answer specific questions about this case at this time.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cDACC appreciates the public\u2019s concern and want to assure everyone that the Department is committed to ensuring all kennel operations meet legal requirements and provide humane care.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nLinda was present during the 6am raid and said to have been “extremely cooperative”.<\/p>\n
\nThe 67-year-old star later addressed the incident on Instagram and insisted she and the dogs were \u201cgood in lieu of our surprise visit in 105\u00b0 heat.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nShe added: \u201cTurns out we just have some paperwork to do and some diagrams but as everybody knows, I\u2019m looking to move so I can be more educational and help more animals.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019d rather move forward. And I always say you know a good old-fashioned letter of contact always works. Be safe safe lives support animal rescue cause we\u2019re all fighting to save lives.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nLinda – who established the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating neglected and abandoned animals – previously described helping animals as her “life’s calling”.<\/p>\n
\nShe told People magazine: “In my 20s, I said, ‘I really am struggling.’ It was like, for some, a midlife crisis. But, for me, it was my life’s calling, saying, ‘What about me? The animals need help.’ <\/p>\n
\n“So that’s where I really started buckling down … and I was giving my time and money.”<\/p>\n
