Alex Cooper<\/strong><\/a> is sharing an update on her pregnancy.<\/p>\n

If you didn’t see the news, the 31-year-old Call Her Daddy<\/em> host announced in May that she is pregnant<\/a>. This will be the first child for Alex<\/strong> and husband Matt Kaplan<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a new Instagram<\/a> video posted on Thursday (July 30), Alex<\/strong> revealed that she has been diagnosed with gestational diabetes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not gonna cry on the internet because I\u2019ve never cried on the internet, but when I tell you, I almost did,\u201d Alex<\/strong> said, before explaining that the condition arises when placental hormones cause insulin resistance.<\/p>\n

“I was told anyone can get this no matter what your prior weight, diet, fitness level \u2014 literally anyone is susceptible to getting it,\u201d she shared, going on to discuss the emotional toll the diagnosis has had on her.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I got this diagnosis, the first couple days, I was really hard on myself and it felt very isolating,” Alex<\/strong> admitted. “As much as my family and my husband and everyone was there for me, I just felt like it\u2019s me on an island. This diagnosis was so upsetting, I think, because during pregnancy there\u2019s already so much emotionally that you\u2019re going through.”<\/p>\n

She went on to say that she’s felt “blessed” to have already experience many incredible parts of pregnancy.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously my first instinct was just like, \u2018Oh my god, I want my child to be okay and I want my baby to be healthy. I\u2019ll do whatever it takes,’” Alex<\/strong> recalled thinking.<\/p>\n

She added that there were still “question marks” about whether her efforts to eat healthy or exercise would pay off when it came to her gestational diabetes.<\/p>\n

\u201cReading people\u2019s experiences, that has been the most helpful so far,” Alex<\/strong> said. “I think it\u2019s a really defeating feeling, but I\u2019m trying to not let myself get defeated.”<\/p>\n

In a recent interview, Alex<\/strong> addressed the toxic workplace allegations<\/a> against herself and Matt<\/strong> at their Unwell Network.<\/p>\n
