Hallmark\u2019s Paris Is Always a Good Idea<\/em> is based on a book \u2014 but star Lacey Chabert<\/strong> <\/a>promises there\u2019s still room for viewers to be surprised.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t answer for the book fans, but I do think they will be happy with this adaptation,\u201d Chabert, 43, exclusively told Us<\/em> about how the limited series brings Jenn McKinlay<\/strong>\u2018s novel to life.<\/p>\n

Chabert hinted that there were \u201csome changes that had to be made in the adaptation,\u201d adding, \u201cBut I think it\u2019s such a rich story. The characters that people fell in love with in the book are represented so well in this.\u201d<\/p>\n

The six-part show follows nonprofit executive Chelsea (Chabert), who goes to Paris with rival Knightly<\/a> (Scott Michael Foster<\/strong>) to secure a donation. Through a message from her late mother \u2014 and support from her family \u2014 Chelsea decides to revisit three past loves across Ireland, Paris and Spain.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tLacey Chabert has become one of Hallmark\u2019s biggest stars after making her network debut in 2010 \u2014 and she has no plans to stop anytime soon. \u201cThese movies mean so much to me. I really am genuine when I say that,\u201d Chabert exclusively told Us Weekly in October 2021. \u201cThey\u2019re not just jobs, and I [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI am so happy that this is a limited series because it gives us six episodes to tell this story,\u201d Chabert gushed. \u201cAnd with a movie, you\u2019re limited in the amount of time that you have to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n

By expanding the running time,<\/a> Paris Is Always a Good Idea<\/em> is able to get viewers even more invested in the love stories at the center of the show. Chabert appreciated the opportunity to dive into Chelsea\u2019s adventure, which is \u201ca very layered\u201d story.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a romance and it\u2019s a family drama. It\u2019s a beautiful travel story,\u201d she shared. \u201cWe get to go to Ireland, Paris and Spain. We\u2019re also dealing with three different timelines, which was really my favorite part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chabert continued: \u201cBecause I think it\u2019s just human nature to reflect back on your life and ponder about the future. We get to see my character live in all three of those. As an actress, it was really fun to play.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paris Is Always a Good Idea<\/em> did come with its challenges<\/a> \u2014 specifically when it came to filming scenes from every episode at the same time.<\/p>\n

The actress, 42, made her Hallmark Channel debut with 2010\u2019s Elevator Girl. Two years later, she starred in her first holiday feature for the network with Matchmaker Santa. \u201cThese movies mean so much to me. I really am [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe shot all six episodes simultaneously. So we were filming different parts of them at all times,\u201d Chabert recalled. \u201cScott and I, our very first scene together is one of the more complicated scenes in the show. And we were like, \u2018Hi, nice to meet you. Let\u2019s go. Let\u2019s do this difficult scene.’\u201d<\/p>\n
