Claudia and Nelson Peltz – the parents of Brooklyn\u2019s model wife Nicola Peltz Beckham – have been named in a lawsuit filed by a woman called Joy Ransom, who claims she was attacked by the pair\u2019s rescue dog Houdini on December 23, 2025. <\/p>\n
In the lawsuit, Ransom said she was working in the Peltz\u2019s residence preparing Christmas gifts when the alleged attack happened, and claimed that the Peltz family knew Houdini had a history of being \u201cprone to attack people\u201d, but had not put him \u201cunder any form of restraint or control\u201d – or arranged any \u201cK-9 training or behaviour training\u201d – because of that. <\/p>\n
The legal paperwork goes on to state that Ransom was \u201cnot negligent in causing the incident\u201d, and includes her allegations that she \u201cincurred medical expenses\u201d after the alleged attack. <\/p>\n

It also states that Nicola was present when the alleged incident occurred. <\/p>\n
\nRansom is suing Claudia and Nelson for $50,000 in damages, claiming she suffered \u201cbodily injury and resulting physical and mental pain and suffering, disability, physical impairment, disfigurement, mental anguish, inconvenience, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, loss of earnings and impairment of earning capacity and\/or permanent aggravation of a pre-existing condition, and further incurred hospital bills, medical bills, and\/or other bills as a result of said injuries\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nShe\u2019s also demanding a jury trial, according to the lawsuit, which was filed on July 10 and obtained by People. <\/p>\n
\nIt\u2019s the second time Claudia and Nelson have been sued following an alleged attack by Houdini. <\/p>\n
\nIn December 2024, another former employee claimed that Houdini was \u201clunging and attempting to attack\u201d her, which led to her falling and injury herself. <\/p>\n
\nRansom cites the 2024 incident in her lawsuit, to back up her claims that Claudia and Nelson \u201cfailed to report Houdini\u2019s dangerous propensities to the appropriate animal control authority and failed to obtain a certificate of registration for Houdini\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nClaudia and Nelson have yet to comment publicly about the lawsuit while Nicola – who calls herself a \u201cdog activist\u201d on her Instagram profile – hasn\u2019t posted on her grid for the last two weeks.<\/p>\n
