Meghan Markle<\/strong><\/a> stepped out to support the new documentary Cookie Queens<\/em><\/strong> this week!<\/p>\n

The Duchess of Sussex participated in a Q&A after a screening of the movie on Tuesday (July 28) at AMC The Grove 14 in Los Angeles. <\/p>\n

Meghan<\/strong> was joined at the event by director Alysa Nahmias<\/strong>, moderator Jessica Radloff<\/strong>, and some of the girls who are featured in the documentary. <\/p>\n

A celebration of girlhood and the complexities that come with it,\u00a0Cookie Queens<\/em>\u00a0is a coming-of-age story about the joys, pressures, and tensions woven into one of America\u2019s most cherished rituals: Girl Scout Cookie season.<\/p>\n

Meghan<\/strong> and her husband, Prince Harry<\/strong><\/a>, are executive producers on the project. <\/p>\n

At the screening, Meghan<\/strong> explained why she and Harry<\/strong> joined the project. <\/p>\n

“It\u2019s more than just about the Girl Scouts and certainly more than just about Girl Scout cookies,\u201d she said (via People<\/a><\/em>). \u201cIt\u2019s about girlhood, which Alysa<\/strong> has said quite a bit as we\u2019ve been working through promoting the show, but also it\u2019s about families.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meghan<\/strong> continued, \u201cI think it\u2019s just such a brilliant portrayal of a really important part of Americana. When I describe it to people, I say, \u2018I know you think it\u2019s just gonna be a cutesy film about cookies…\u2019 And yes, while it is very cute and there are lots of great things about cookies, I mean, I don\u2019t know about you guys, but every time we\u2019ve seen it, there\u2019s not a dry eye in the house… There\u2019s just so many really meaningful, grounding moments that I think will make it much more resonant than just something that\u2019s cute. It is so much bigger than that, and that\u2019s a testament to Alysa<\/strong> and the crew and really how hard they\u2019ve worked on this.\u201d<\/p>\n
