The Red, White & Royal Blue<\/em><\/strong> sequel is on the way! <\/p>\n

Titled Red, White & Royal Wedding<\/strong><\/em>, the forthcoming follow-up to the fan-favorite movie adaptation of Casey McQuiston<\/strong>‘s book was filmed earlier this year, and it’s reportedly set to debut later this year on Prime Video. <\/p>\n

While plot details are currently unknown at this time, the story will continue to follow Prince Henry and Alex Claremont-Diaz’s relationship, and the wedding in the title is reportedly about Henry’s sister Bea<\/a> tying the knot. <\/p>\n

Last summer, the first movie’s director, Matthew Lopez<\/strong>, who co-wrote the sequel, teased<\/a>, “We wanted to honor what people loved about the first film. We wanted to sort of challenge expectations about what comes next. And we want to make sure that we do right by the movie that we made that people really loved.\u201d<\/p>\n

During Prime Video’s Obsessed Fest<\/em> this summer, Casey<\/strong> revealed some more details about the sequel. <\/p>\n

“I can tell you something\u2026 there\u2019s definitely more domesticity in this movie, because, you know, they\u2019re together now,\u201d she\u00a0said<\/a>\u00a0at a panel. \u201cSo, you get to see a little bit of their life at home. I really hope I don\u2019t get in trouble for saying this.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI would say it is a couple degrees spicier than the first movie,\u201d she added. \u201cThe intimacy is kind of dialed up in a way that is really beautiful and really fun to watch.\u201d<\/p>\n

Red, White & Royal Wedding<\/em>\u00a0is being directed by\u00a0Jamie Babbit<\/strong>, with a script by\u00a0Matthew Lopez<\/strong>, along with\u00a0Casey McQuiston<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Gemma Burgess<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
