Kaitlan Collins<\/strong><\/a> is responding to President Donald Trump<\/strong><\/a>‘s latest insulting remarks.<\/p>\n

The CNN news anchor chatted with Jon Stewart<\/strong><\/a> during Monday night’s (July 27) episode of The Daily Show<\/em> and he asked her about Trump<\/strong>‘s comments during Friday’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve always felt this, regardless of who’s the president, whether it’s Joe Biden<\/strong><\/a>, Donald Trump<\/strong>,\u201d she said. \u201cIt’s really not about me, and I don’t want it to be about my reaction. And so I think if you let it become about that, then it becomes a back and forth between the two of us.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI just think in those moments, it’s important to put the reminder back on the work, on the question, and on the non-answers that we get,\u201d Kaitlan <\/strong>said to Stewart<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During the dinner, Trump <\/strong>made several rude comments about Kaitlan<\/strong>, like that she never smiles. It’s not the first time he has spoken about her, either, as previously Anderson Cooper<\/strong> came to her defense<\/a> after Trump <\/strong>called her a “corrupt reporter” and more.<\/p>\n

At the White House Correspondents dinner, he also congratulated her for winning the 2026 WHCA award for her coverage of his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky<\/strong> in February 2025. <\/p>\n

He said she \u201cshouldn\u2019t get the award. It was a fake, but I didn\u2019t mind.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fact that I got an award for it really bothered him clearly,\u201d\u00a0Kaitlan <\/strong>added during her visit to The Daily Show<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Kaitlan <\/strong>continued, adding that she was “not surprised” by his comments.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat happens pretty regularly inside the Oval Office. This is just a bigger venue where it was happening. What was most surprising to me was the room was filled with a lot of his staffers, his cabinet, his allies, Republicans in Congress\u2026 it was so quiet in the room during the president’s remarks,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
