\nEric previously reflected on his relationship with Emma, and suggested that the public had misunderstood their dynamic.<\/p>\n
\nThe actor told Really Famous With Kara Mayer Robinson in April: “It\u2019s only complicated through outside eyes, because they don\u2019t get any of it. So, they have their own take, whatever that is.”<\/p>\n
\nEric also spoke out in support of his daughter, and all she’s achieved in her own career.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: “I\u2019m so proud of my kid.”<\/p>\n
\nEmma has already achieved huge success in her career, starring in movies such as Palo Alto, Valentine’s Day and We’re the Millers. <\/p>\n
\nBut the actress previously claimed that the public underestimates the challenges faced by so-called nepo babies.<\/p>\n
\nThe Hollywood star said on the Table for Two with Bruce Bozzi podcast: “People kind of only see your wins because they only see when you’re on the poster of a movie. They don’t see all the rejection along the way.<\/p>\n
\n“That’s why I’m always very open about things I\u2019ve auditioned for and haven’t gotten the part for.<\/p>\n
\n“I think it’s important to talk about – otherwise people just think everything’s been so great and linear and easy, and no, it’s not at all. But of course it looks like that to the outside perspective or to the naked eye.”<\/p>\n
\nEmma suggested that having family ties to Hollywood can be a double-edged sword.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I think there’s two sides of the coin. People like to say, you know, you have a leg up because you have family in the industry.<\/p>\n
\n“But then the other side to that is you have to prove yourself more.<\/p>\n
\n“Also, if people don’t have good experiences with other people in your family, then you’ll never get a chance.”<\/p>\n
