Prime Video unveiled the first teaser for its upcoming television series Carrie<\/em><\/strong> during the 2026 San Diego Comic-Con<\/strong><\/em> on Saturday (July 25), introducing Summer H. Howell<\/strong> as the latest actress to play the telekinetic teenager.<\/p>\n

In the teaser, we see Carrie attempting to connect with her classmates and a brief flash of the infamous prom night.<\/p>\n

Amazon is making the first TV series adaptation of Stephen<\/strong> King<\/strong><\/strong><\/a>‘s 1974 debut novel, with eight episodes to expand on the story as tensions build toward the story’s infamous climax. <\/p>\n

The new version brings Carrie’s bullying into the social-media age. After the death of her father, the formerly sheltered teenager enters public high school and becomes the center of a viral scandal.<\/p>\n

After her father\u2019s sudden, untimely death thrusts her into the unforgiving ecosystem of public high school, Carrie is forced to navigate a viral bullying scandal that tears through her community, the relentless pressure and casual cruelty of the social?media age, and the awakening of mysterious telekinetic powers that rise alongside her adolescence.<\/p>\n

Told over eight propulsive episodes, the series expands King<\/strong>\u2019s cultural landmark \u2014 deepening its characters and tensions, and following the small, everyday choices that build toward a single, shattering night, in a gripping, deeply human story about kindness versus cruelty, and whether we\u2019re witnessing the making of a hero, a monster, or something far more complicated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Samantha Sloyan<\/strong><\/a> plays Carrie’s fiercely protective and domineering mother, Margaret White. The principal cast also includes Siena Agudong<\/strong><\/a>, Alison Thornton<\/strong>, Joel Oulette<\/strong>, Josie Totah<\/strong>, Arthur Conti<\/strong>, Amber Midthunder<\/strong><\/a>, and Matthew Lillard<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mike<\/strong> wrote and executive produced the series in addition to serving as showrunner and directing four episodes. Stephen King<\/strong> is also an executive producer.<\/p>\n
