Ransom Canyon<\/em> showrunner April Blair<\/strong> teased her vision for season 3 \u2014 including more potential cast shakeups.<\/p>\n

\u201c[There will] definitely [be] new faces,\u201d Blair exclusively told Us<\/em>. \u201cI definitely want to learn more about Lucas and Kit\u2019s parents. I feel like we\u2019ve never really talked about that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Blair wanted to expand Lucas\u2019 (Garrett Wareing<\/strong>) story<\/a>, adding, \u201cI really want to bring someone new to the canvas so that Lucas can have his own new experience and new love and just someone fun to shake things up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Outside of the Russell family, Blair hoped for more musical acts.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe we bring another version of a musical element to our story. Season 1, we had Charley Crockett performing in Gracie\u2019s. And in season 2, we do this big blowout with the festival and Jordan Davis and Thomas Rhett,\u201d she noted. \u201cAnd what is a different version of bringing music to our show? Because I think it\u2019s really integral.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cIs it bringing someone who is a musician and is a character in the show? Quinn is building this musical mecca basically. She\u2019s got Gracie\u2019s and now she\u2019s going to open the old theater. What does that bring to town and the new elements there?\u201d<\/p>\n

Blair hinted that the \u201cpossibilities are endless<\/a>\u201d for season 3.<\/p>\n

Based on Jodi Thomas<\/strong>\u2018 book series about a town that is full of drama, romance and hope, Ransom Canyon, which premiered in April 2025, introduced Us<\/em> to the locals in Texas Hill Country. Josh Duhamel<\/strong>\u2018s character, Staten, was grieving two major losses in season 1 while navigating his undeniable connection to childhood friend Quinn (Minka Kelly<\/strong>), who has also caught the eye of Staten\u2019s brother-in-law and love triangle rival Davis (Eoin Macken<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

There was also Yancy (Jack Schumacher<\/strong>), who had a past he was hiding from Ellie (Marianly Tejada<\/strong>). Viewers found themselves further invested in a love triangle between high school students Lucas (Wareing), Lauren (Lizzy Greene<\/strong>) and Reid (Andrew Liner<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

During the second season, which premiered on Thursday, July 23, Davis (Macken), his son Reid (Liner) and Davis\u2019 ex-wife Paula Jo (Meta Golding<\/strong>) were all no longer in the show<\/a>.
