Sick of It All<\/strong> has announced the death of front man Lou Koller<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s with unbelievable sadness that we announce to our worldwide hardcore family the passing of our brother Lou Koller<\/strong>. The level of loss that we feel at this time is overwhelming,” they wrote in a statement posted Friday (July 24) on social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lou<\/strong> was 59 at the time of his death and passed away amid a battle with adenocarcinoma cancer. <\/p>\n

Lou Koller was diagnosed with cancer in June 2024<\/h3>\n

In June 2024, the singer shared with his fans that a doctor had found a tumor in esophagus and received the diagnosis of adenocarcinoma cancer. He took a break from touring with the band to undergo treatment. The tumor went from his esophagus into his stomach and Lou<\/strong> shared that the band had fully supported him throughout. <\/p>\n

He and his brother, Pete Koller<\/strong>, formed Sick of It All with drummer Armand Majidi<\/strong> in 1986 Queens, New York. The group’s debut album, Blood, Sweat and No Tears<\/em>, dropped in 1989 and they have been touring pretty much constantly ever since. <\/p>\n

Sick of it All shares a statement in his honor<\/h3>\n

“We have lost a beloved friend and an iconic frontman. Lou<\/strong> had the power to raise everyone\u2019s spirits at our shows with a smile and a sarcastic comment, and he won people over wherever we played, from every culture and every corner of the world,” the band’s statement said.<\/p>\n

It continued, “At this time of intense grief, we must again acknowledge the great help and support offered by everyone who donated to Lou<\/strong>\u2019s medical fund. You all helped Lou<\/strong> feel very special and very loved as he battled away these last two years. His battle is over now and he can finally rest. Hopefully he can somehow still see and feel the beautiful, positive mark he left on the world.”<\/p>\n
