Karen Allen<\/strong><\/a> is best known to fans as Marion, the longtime love of Harrison Ford<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s title character in the long-running Indiana Jones<\/em><\/strong><\/a> franchise.<\/p>\n However, the 71-year-old actress revealed that she was a bit disappointed with just how little screen time she actually had in the latest Indiana Jones<\/em> movie, Dial of Destiny<\/em>.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Speaking to THR<\/a>, Karen <\/strong>said that she was a bit disappointed in how Marion was represented on screen and wished she had more screen time than she actually did.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen we finished shooting the fourth, there was already talk about there being a fifth and perhaps final episode,\u201d Karen <\/strong>told the outlet. \u201cI was always imagining I would be in it \u2014 and I am \u2014 but it\u2019s just in a slightly different way than I had imagined.\u201d<\/p>\n She then opened up about how, when the project switched hands, her role was greatly reduced which brought on her disappointment.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen Steven [Spielberg] was still going to direct the film, I didn\u2019t have the opportunity to read any of those scripts, although I know that Marion was much more involved in the story at that juncture,\u201d she added. \u201cSo I knew James [Mangold] had hired new writers and that there was going to be a whole new approach with a new director and new writers, but I was really going into the unknown.\u201d<\/p>\n Karen <\/strong>did admit to being frustrated over it too.<\/p>\n \u201cThe next thing I knew, I was reading a script that told [Dial of Destiny<\/em>\u2019s] story, and of course, I was disappointed,\u201d she says. \u201cI had thought that I would be majorly a part of the film, and that was just not the direction they decided to go.\u201d<\/p>\n While it wasn\u2019t the path or story she was expecting, Karen <\/strong>did note that it all came together at the end.<\/p>\n \u201cI think they had some problems to solve with the story in terms of Shia LaBeouf not coming back, and they chose to create this story that Mutt had been killed<\/a> in the war and that it put a wedge between Marion and Indy,\u201d she says. \u201cI mean, you could have knocked me over with a feather when I read it. But I was really happy that they came back together in the end.\u201d<\/p>\n Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny<\/em> is out in theaters now.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
