Derek Fisher<\/strong><\/a> and wife Gloria Govan<\/strong><\/a> have split up.<\/p>\n

On Friday (July 24), it was reported that the 51-year-old former NBA star and the 41-year-old Basketball Wives<\/em> star have separated after five years of marriage.<\/p>\n

A rep for the estranged couple confirmed their split to TMZ<\/a><\/em>, revealing that Derek<\/strong> and Gloria<\/strong> have been living separately and leading separate lives. However, the two are not heading towards a divorce just yet.<\/p>\n

The outlet says they were told that Derek<\/strong> and Gloria<\/strong> have “built a family together and are in constant communication, trying to work through their issues.”<\/p>\n

If you didn’t know, Derek<\/strong> and Gloria<\/strong> first started dating in 2015 and he proposed in April 2018.<\/p>\n

They married in July 2021 at Cielo Farms in Malibu, Calif. after postponing their original 2020 wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

Derek<\/strong> and Gloria<\/strong> have both been married before. Gloria <\/strong>was previously married to former NBA star Matt Barnes<\/strong>, with whom she shares twin sons, while Derek<\/strong> was married to Candace Fisher<\/strong>. Derek<\/strong> and Candace<\/strong> share four children together.<\/p>\n

After playing in the NBA for 18 seasons, Derek<\/strong> went on to coach the New York Knicks and then the Los Angeles Sparks. He is now the head coach for Crespi Carmelite High School in Encino, Calif.<\/p>\n
