Tom Cruise<\/a> and Katie Holmes\u2019 daughter is following in her parents\u2019 footsteps by kicking off her acting career in a William Shakespeare play.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Katie Holmes’ daughter Suri to star in Shakespeare adaptation<\/p>\n
Suri, 20, will be taking on a role in Midsummer! – a modern take on beloved play A Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream – at Carnegie Mellon University. <\/p>\n
The play, which will take place at the Trust Arts Education Center\u2019s Peirce Studio in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, will be running for 90 minutes, and from July 31 to August 1. <\/p>\n
It will then go to Scotland for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where it will be performed from August 7 to August 21. <\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
It\u2019s unclear at this stage whether or not Suri will be travelling to Scotland for that leg of the production. <\/p>\n
\nAccording to the New York Post\u2019s Page Six, Suri is studying musical theatre at Carnegie Mellon, after graduating from New York\u2019s LaGuardia High School in 2024. <\/p>\n
\nIt\u2019s not the first time Suri has taken to the stage – she played a character called Angel in a staged reading of Cosmic Microwave Background in March this year. <\/p>\n
\nShe has previously sung on mum Katie\u2019s projects Alone Together and Rare Objects, with Katie admitting it means a lot to have her daughter involved. <\/p>\n
\nKatie told Glamour magazine: \u201cI hope she always does something on my films. I always ask her. Both of those experiences came out of the same sense of what I love about our industry, which is, you have these projects and you become a family with people. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd it\u2019s this safe, beautiful, creative space. So it comes out of love for me to include someone who I love dearly.”<\/p>\n
\n“That\u2019s how I like to work. I like to have that kind of feeling. It was very meaningful to me to have her there, because she\u2019s my heart.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nKatie welcomed daughter Suri into the world in 2006 – the same year she married baby daddy Tom. <\/p>\n
\nShe filed for divorce in 2012, with the pair finalising the split later that year, and is believed to have had sole custody of Suri prior to her 18th birthday. <\/p>\n
\nSuri later made the decision to swap her dad\u2019s surname for her mum\u2019s middle name, and now goes by Suri Noelle.<\/p>\n
