Rosie O’Donnell<\/a> believes Mounjaro “saved [her] life”.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Rosie O’Donnell has used weight-loss medication<\/p>\n
The 64-year-old star has struggled with her weight since her childhood, and Rosie has credited the drug for changing her life in recent years.<\/p>\n
Rosie – who was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes three years ago – told People: “It\u2019s a miracle drug.<\/p>\n
“I was stunned how it quieted the food noise. I\u2019ve had trouble with my weight my whole life.”<\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
Rosie subsequently explained the origins of her weight struggles.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I know some people are ashamed to talk about it but I wanted to share how it helped me and I don\u2019t like secrets as a whole.<\/p>\n
\n“When my mom died, all of us children gained weight. My father would give us a one hundred dollar bill and we would go to Foodtown to do the food shopping.<\/p>\n
\n“Now if you\u2019re 11-years-old and you\u2019re shopping for a family of five, there\u2019s nothing nutritious about it. It was Entenmann\u2019s and Cap\u2019n Crunch and we would always say, \u2018Subtotal please,\u2019 and when it got near one hundred, we\u2019d put back the chicken and the hamburger meat. Everyone got heavy. Everyone was in such grief and trauma.<\/p>\n
\n“And so Mounjaro saved my life. I\u2019ve lost a pound or two a month for three years.”<\/p>\n
\nRosie is happy to extol the virtues of the weight-loss medication and she hopes other people are able to resolve their own weight-loss issues, too.<\/p>\n
\nRosie reflected: “I really wish I could do commercials for Mounjaro and they would drop the price instead of paying me. Because when I see people struggling with obesity, I want to say I know the shame that we carry and the humiliation that is dealt to people who are overweight.”<\/p>\n
\nRosie has admitted to feeling “much healthier” now than she did at the height of her fame.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “When I would do late night, my biggest concern wasn\u2019t my set, it was, did I look fat? The first time I did a talk show, it was Pat Sajak and people were saying \u2018You were so good,\u2019 and I\u2019d go, \u2018How did I look in that blazer?\u2019 I wasn\u2019t even heavy then.<\/p>\n
\n“I feel much healthier and more powerful in my physicality.”<\/p>\n
