Supriya Ganesh<\/strong>\u2019s next role has been revealed after her controversial exit from The Pitt<\/em> as Dr. Samira Mohan.<\/p>\n

Netflix<\/a> announced on Wednesday, July 22, that Ganesh, 28, has joined its cast for the upcoming 13 Going on 30 reboot. Other cast members confirmed include Taylor Zakhar Perez, Owen Thiele, Nasim Pedrad<\/strong> and Myra Molloy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The cast will be rounded out by Emily Bader, Logan Lerman, Adeline Rudolph, Jessica Alba, Taylor Ortega, Tim Meadows, Dan Bucatinsky, Charley McCain, Henry Samiri, Audrina Miranda<\/strong> and Kai Zen.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Three months earlier, news broke that Ganesh\u2019s character would be written off The Pitt<\/em><\/a> after appearing on the medical show for two seasons. Reports indicated in April that Ganesh\u2019s exit was a \u201cstory-driven\u201d choice. One month later, Ganesh opened up about the fan reaction \u2014 and uproar \u2014 to her character\u2019s exit.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSupriya Ganesh\u2019s departure from The Pitt has sent ripples across the internet. Ganesh, who played Dr. Samira Mohan on the HBO Max medical drama, was written off the series ahead of season 3 in a decision producers described as \u201cstory-driven.\u201d In the season 2 finale, Mohan had a conversation with Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle) before [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI tried to take a step away, because it\u2019s just been so surreal<\/a>,\u201d Ganesh told Variety<\/em> in May of the reaction. \u201cThe day that news broke, I saw my name was trending on Twitter, and I was like, \u2018Gotta put the phone down and go outside.\u2019 So, I haven\u2019t really been keeping track of it, to be honest, but I\u2019ve been getting such sweet, lovely messages from people, and I\u2019ve honestly just been surprised at how much people love the character and saw so much of themselves in her, and that\u2019s what I\u2019m going to miss.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Ganesh couldn\u2019t confirm any future projects yet, she teased that there are a \u201ccouple of things in the pipeline.\u201d<\/p>\n

In June, Ganesh made a rare comment about why her character was written off, telling the Los Angeles Times<\/em> in a profile that it was a \u201ccreative decision\u201d<\/a> made by executive producers R. Scott Gemmill, Noah Wyle <\/strong>and John Wells<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
