Sir Mick Jagger doesn’t enjoy getting older<\/p>\n
The 82-year-old Rolling Stones frontman lamented the fact he has “forgotten” the wisdom he has despensed over the years and he is much less capable physically than he used to be.<\/p>\n
Asked what is good and bad about getting older on The New York Times\u2019 podcast The Interview, he said: \u201cThere\u2019s nothing good about it. Nothing. You don\u2019t get wisdom. You forget everything. Forgot all my wisdom.<\/p>\n
\u201cI might have had a couple of pearls, but I\u2019ve forgotten what they are.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not particularly pleasant and, of course, you can\u2019t do things as quickly as you want to, and physically you can\u2019t do things that you would like to do. You can still do them, but you have to be more careful.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe Satisfaction hitmaker admitted his decades of fame have left him “disassociated” from the world around him because his life is no longer “normal”.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cObviously, it\u2019s not normal.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt is not like most people\u2019s lives. It does affect you. You can become disassociated. From other people.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cA lot of people in show business only hang around with people in show business, because they\u2019ve got something in common, they can relate to each other, and you get disassociated from what people might call \u2018real life\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBut Mick does his best to keep his feet on the ground.<\/p>\n
\nAsked what he does to stay grounded, he replied: \u201cYou go out and walk on the street on your own and do normal things.”<\/p>\n
\nBut even that, he admitted, only offers temporary relief.<\/p>\n
\nHe continued: \u201cNevertheless, that\u2019s only temporary because psychologically your actual state of mind is permanently damaged.”<\/p>\n
\nThe veteran rocker isn’t interested in getting political during Rolling Stones concerts because he just wants fans to have a good time and forget the stresses and strains of everyday life.<\/p>\n
\nHe explained:\u201cThe bottom line is that my job in the live music world is to [ensure] people that come have the best time they possibly can, and for two hours forget all their problems and the problems of the world.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cTheir mortgages and whatever. Just so they can have the best time.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cYour job is to make them go more apes***. You don\u2019t want to lecture them.\u201d<\/p>\n
