\u201cVanity Fair<\/em> ain\u2019t gonna get me crying in here, I can tell you that right now,\u201d Oprah Winfrey<\/a> says, snapping herself out of an emotional memory as part of Vanity Fair<\/em>\u2019s Scene Selection<\/em><\/a>.<\/em> Her steely vow aside, the talk show host turned media mogul digs deep while reacting to standout clips from her 40-plus years in the spotlight<\/a>.<\/p>\n One such pop cultural keystone? Winfrey\u2019s groundbreaking car giveaway, which happened on September 13, 2004, during the season 19 premiere of The Oprah Winfrey Show.<\/em> Winfrey wore a red Celine suit to match the big, bright bow that topped each vehicle\u2014one for every member of her studio audience. \u201cYou get a car! You get a car! Everybody gets a car!\u201d Winfrey shouted as a way to avoid \u201cpandemonium,\u201d her voice rising above the screeches of the overjoyed crowd. The future president went on to appear on Winfrey\u2019s show multiple times, but that first interview, conducted in October 2006, had high stakes: \u201cI was nervous, and I wanted this to be a good platform for him.
