KJ Apa<\/strong><\/a> is recalling a time when he almost got into a fight with Cole Sprouse<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n

The 29-year-old actor and the 33-year-old actor were co-stars for several years on the CW series Riverdale<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, which ran for seven seasons. <\/p>\n

During a recent appearance on Cole<\/strong>‘s twin brother Dylan Sprouse<\/strong><\/a>‘s podcast, Wildmen<\/a><\/em>, with Brendon Columbus<\/strong>, KJ<\/strong> recalled a time when he went out with the Sprouse<\/strong> twins, and Cole<\/strong> punched him in the face. <\/p>\n

“Cole<\/strong> and I would walk into places in Vancouver all the time and get called [names]. I remember we almost got into a fight,\u201d KJ<\/strong> shared, as Dylan<\/strong> noted his brother \u201clikes to get into fisticuffs.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, I\u2019ve been around,\u201d KJ<\/strong> added. \u201cHe punched me in the face!\u201d<\/p>\n

Dylan<\/strong> was actually there at that time, saying KJ<\/strong> “ran like an ostrich” after. <\/p>\n

“He punched you, then you ran away,” he recalled. “Also, I looked at my brother after that, and I was like, ‘Dude, you could have just died.’ I made the mistake of trying to chase after [KJ<\/strong>]. I was like, ‘Oh, dude, I’m going to get him.’ You were three blocks away by the time I was like just getting my bearings. I called you. I was like, ‘My god.’ You might still have the voicemail.”<\/p>\n

KJ<\/strong> then explained what happened that led Cole <\/strong>to punch him. <\/p>\n

“He hit me because we were in a strip club and, at this time, I was doing a lot of drugs and a lot of my close friends were worried about me,\u201d KJ<\/strong> shared. \u201cAnd he had learned that I was doing drugs again… It was a love punch.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was kind of a wake-up punch,\u201d Dylan<\/strong> added, which KJ<\/strong> agreed with, saying, \u201cYeah. No, it was a wake-up punch.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dylan <\/strong>went on to note that he was appreciative of his brother’s bond with KJ<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

“I thought you and Cole<\/strong>\u2019s interaction, I always thought was like really beautiful as a brother,\u201d he said. \u201cBecause I go, first off, you worry for your sibling when he goes out and he does a show where he\u2019s not from and he lives there for years.\u201d<\/p>\n

“And I go, ‘w’Well, he’s not going to have anyone he’s really close to.’ And I worried about him,” Dylan<\/strong> continued. “But then he calls me, and he called me all the time, and he was like, \u2018I got to tell you, I\u2019m so glad KJ<\/strong>\u2019s here.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m glad you guys had an interaction, which then I immediately knew as a brother, I was like, \u2018Okay, he\u2019s safe. He has at least someone who\u2019s like of a similar mentality to him, the similar kind of person.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Last year, KJ<\/strong> opened up about his sobriety<\/a> and how becoming a father saved his life.<\/p>\n
