A sample of lettuce from Taylor Farms that had tested positive for cyclospora was a false positive, the Food and Drug Administration said over the weekend.<\/p>\n
“Due to the complexity in detection of Cyclospora, FDA laboratory experts re-reviewed the sample results and have concluded that the finding does not represent true amplification and should be considered a false positive,” the FDA said.<\/p>\n
Taylor Farms took to socials to try and clear its name.<\/p>\n
But today, Reteurs reported<\/a> this:<\/b> The U.S. Food \u200band Drug Administration \u200con Monday said that \u200btraceback investigation \u200bdata gathered as part \u2060of \u200ba probe into \u200ban outbreak of cyclosporiasis pointed to \u200bshredded \u200biceberg lettuce from Taylor \u200cFarms \u2060locations in central Mexico.<\/i><\/p>\nThe agency’s latest statement \u200bcame \u200bafter \u2060it had concluded \u200bthat tests \u200bon \u2060the lettuce showed a \u2060false \u200bpositive.<\/b><\/p>\n
