Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> dropped a handful of\u00a0never-before-heard\u00a0songs<\/a> with the release of her latest rerecorded album \u2014 and one track has fans wondering if it\u2019s about Emma Stone<\/strong><\/a> and Andrew Garfield<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Swift, 33, debuted Speak Now (Taylor\u2019s Version)<\/em><\/a> on Friday, July 7. Along with updated versions of the original 16 songs, the songstress added six new bonus tracks including \u201cWhen Emma Falls In Love,\u201d a song that seemingly hints at Stone \u2014 who is a longtime friend of Swift.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWhen Emma falls in love, she calls up her mom \/ Jokes about the ways that this one could go wrong,\u201d Swift sings in the first verse. \u201cShe waits and takes her time \/ \u2018Cause Little Miss Sunshine always thinks it\u2019s gonna rain.\u201d<\/p>\n As they began dissecting the lyrics, some listeners grew convinced that \u201clittle miss sunshine\u201d referred to Stone\u2019s memorable Easy A<\/em> scene<\/a> in which she sings along to Natasha Bedingfield<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s \u201cPocketful of Sunshine.\u201d<\/p>\n Elsewhere in the new track, Swift sings: \u201cEmma met a boy with eyes like a man \/ Turns out her heart fits right in the palm of his hand \/ Now he\u2019ll be her shelter when it rains \/ Little does he know, his whole world\u2019s about to change.\u201d<\/p>\n While some fans have theorized that the boy in question might be Stone\u2019s ex Kieran Culkin<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 the pair dated after working together on the 2009 movie Paper Man<\/em><\/a> \u2014 others wondered whether the song is more focused on friendship<\/a> than on romantic love.<\/p>\n \u201cWell, she\u2019s so New York when she\u2019s in L.A. \/ She won\u2019t lose herself in love the way that I did,\u201d Swift sings in the bridge. \u201c\u2018Cause she\u2019ll call you out, she\u2019ll put you in your place \/ When Emma falls in love, I\u2019m learning.\u201d<\/p>\n Stone\u2019s most high-profile relationship<\/a>, however, was with Garfield \u2014 which began after Swift wrote the track. The twosome met when they played Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker<\/a>, respectively, in 2012\u2019s The Amazing Spider-Man<\/em>. Sparks immediately flew, and their onscreen chemistry quickly turned into a real-life love story.<\/p>\n \u201cShe keeps you on your toes and that wakes you up. That was the beginning,\u201d Garfield told MTV News<\/em> in June 2012, admitting that he was \u201cso happy\u201d when he learned Stone had accepted the role<\/a> after their screen test. \u201cThose are the days I\u2019d look forward to, you know? For [my character] Peter as well, because Peter goes through some horrible stuff in the movie. There\u2019s some joy to be had when experiencing his first love.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The pair returned for the franchise\u2019s follow-up film, The Amazing Spider-Man 2,<\/em> in 2014 before ultimately calling it quits<\/a> one year later. \u201cThey still have a lot of love for one another and they are on good terms with each another and remain close,\u201d an insider exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em>\u00a0of the breakup at the time. \u201cIt just wasn\u2019t working.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n While they\u2019ve since gone their separate ways romantically \u2014 Stone tied the knot<\/a> with Dave McCary<\/strong><\/a> in 2020 \u2014 both the exes have continued to cheer each other on<\/a> from the sidelines over the years, with Garfield telling Vanity Fair<\/em> in 2017 that the \u201ccare\u201d he and Stone have for each other is \u201cunconditional.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s so much love between us and so much respect<\/a>,\u201d he explained. \u201cI\u2019m her biggest fan as an artist. So for me, it\u2019s been bliss to be able to watch her success and watch her bloom into the actress that she is. And it\u2019s been wonderful to have that kind of support for each other. It\u2019s nothing but a beautiful thing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n While Stone has maintained deep bonds with her exes<\/a>, she\u2019s forged an even longer connection with Swift. The duo met in 2008 at the Young Hollywood Awards where Stone told MTV News<\/em><\/a> that she wrote Swift \u201can email\u00a0<\/b>saying I liked her music\u201d and their friendship grew from there. \u201cShe\u2019s so funny and she\u2019s exactly who you think she is, and I love that,\u201d she shared.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The BFFs have since been spotted doing everything from fun-filled ice cream runs in New York City to meet-ups in Paris. In 2010, Swift attended the premiere of Stone\u2019s film Easy A<\/em> \u2014 and was present again for the debut of her 2018 flick The Favourite<\/em><\/a>. (The movie also costarred Swift\u2019s boyfriend at the time, Joe Alwyn<\/strong><\/a>.)<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s just so important to have people that you trust and Emma and\u00a0Selena [Gomez]<\/strong><\/a> and I, we\u2019ve had so many things in our lives that have changed over the last couple years, but our friendship has stayed the same,\u201d Swift gushed of her friendships to Access Hollywood<\/em><\/a> in October 2012. \u201cSo that\u2019s really good.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Prior to the original launch of Speak Now<\/em><\/a> in 2010, Stone revealed that she and the Grammy winner were so close, she was even able to hear the album early. \u201cI was lucky enough to hear it pretty early on, so it\u2019s so exciting for it to be out and own the songs instead of just be singing them [in my head],\u201d Stone shared to MTV News<\/em> at the time.
