The 32-year-old actor – who wed fellow stage star Noah Galvin in 2024 – still experiences a lot of “highs and lows” with his mental health, but feels more on an even keel these days.<\/p>\n
He told The Guardian newspaper: \u201cMy relationship with my husband is a huge factor in being able to manage anxiety. <\/p>\n
“There\u2019s still highs and lows, but everything\u2019s more in my sights, because I thankfully have him. And having something creative to focus on is a big help.\u201d<\/p>\n

Under the Donald Trump administration, Ben admitted life for the LGBTQA+ community can feel “helpless and scary”, but he’s thankful to spend most of his time in New York, which has a new mayot in Zohran Mamdani.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cBeing American feels quite helpless and scary. But being in New York I find optimistic and hopeful.<\/p>\n
\n“[Mamdani represents] a different class of politics, as opposed to abusive painful noise for the sake of abusive painful noise.”<\/p>\n
\nBen previously revealed he dumped Noah in the early days of their romance because he was worried they would “ruin” their friendship.<\/p>\n
\nThe Broadway stars initially began “hooking up” in 2019 while workshopping the musical Alice by Heart’ but Ben started to “panic” about the future.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking to Jesse Tyler Ferguson on his Dinner’s On Me podcast, Ben said: “We would go to the stairwell during break and make out in the stairwell.”<\/p>\n
\nBut after a few months, Ben “panicked” and sent Noah a “text that’s so long that it has an arrow at the bottom to go to the rest of it.”<\/p>\n
\nHe recalled: “I sent him a dissertation, and it was like, ‘Oh, feel like we’re gonna be friends for our whole lives,’ and like, ‘I’m, I’m worried if we jump into something, it’s gonna ruin our chance to be friends.’ “<\/p>\n
\nHe ultimately declared he wanted them to just be friends, leaving Noah unimpressed as he told him “I hate you”.<\/p>\n
\nBut Ben admitted: “Basically, now I can tell in hindsight, like, [I] met someone who, like, actually we saw each other and it freaked me out.” <\/p>\n
\nThe pair – who first met in 2015 through mutual pals – retained a friendship for some time and occasionally ran into one another at events before things eventually turned romantic again.<\/p>\n
