The Duke of Sussex, 41, reportedly told guests that his father is \u201cdoing great\u201d as he continues treatment for cancer. <\/p>\n
Harry, 41, also apparently said his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, 44, and their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, were \u201chappy\u201d to be back home in California following their recent visit to the UK. The comments, reported by Page Six, came during a high-profile appearance centred on the Invictus Games, the sporting competition Harry founded in 2014 for wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans.<\/p>\n
Harry, whose relationship with the Royal family has remained under intense public scrutiny since stepping back from royal duties in 2020, was an unexpected guest at the gala, where he joined leading figures from the sporting world including LeBron James, Russell Wilson, Alysa Liu, Lindsey Vonn and Dancing With the Stars professional Witney Carson. <\/p>\n

The appearance followed Harry\u2019s reported reunion with King Charles, 77, during a recent visit to Britain. The Duke has remained estranged from his brother, Prince William, 44, while continuing to divide his time between charitable work, including the Invictus Games, and projects with Meghan through their California-based Archewell Foundation. <\/p>\n
\nHarry has also remained in the spotlight following the lasting impact of his memoir Spare and his Netflix documentary series Harry and Meghan.<\/p>\n
\nAccording to Page Six, Harry told guests about his young family: \u201cThe kids are growing like weeds.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe outlet also reported Harry said King Charles was \u201cdoing great\u201d, while reportedly adding Meghan and the children were \u201chappy\u201d to be back home in California after their brief stay in Britain.<\/p>\n
\nEarlier in the evening, Harry also spoke to Page Six on the red carpet following England\u2019s defeat to Argentina in the FIFA World Cup semi-final.<\/p>\n
\nAsked about the result, Harry said \u201cof course\u201d he was upset by England\u2019s exit from the tournament.<\/p>\n
\nDuring the gala, the duke took to the stage to speak about the power of sport and the continuing work of the Invictus Games, the international competition he established after serving for a decade in the British Army.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cIt\u2019s truly an honor to be here tonight to celebrate the power of sport.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI don\u2019t just mean the big wins and historic moments. I mean the tough loses, the sacrifices, the moments that no one ever sees.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cSport is where you first felt the essence of teamwork and community. It shaped your discipline, your drive and your very identity. It taught you to revel in the challenges and the joy of overcoming or defining the odds.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHarry continued: \u201cFor many of you, sport shaped who you became. For me, sports instilled essential core values from a very young age. But it didn\u2019t shape my identity as a young man; the British army did.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nReflecting on his own experiences after leaving military service, Harry said: \u201cSport isn\u2019t just entertainment and competition \u2013 sport is medicine.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nGuests at the event also saw Harry meet New York Knicks captain Jalen Brunson, with the pair shaking hands and posing for photographs.<\/p>\n
\nAccording to Page Six, the gala came shortly after Harry\u2019s reported reunion with members of the Royal family during a visit to Britain. <\/p>\n
\nThe outlet reported Buckingham Palace announced King Charles and Queen Camilla, 78, hosted Harry, Meghan and their children at Highgrove House, marking the King’s first reported meeting with Archie and Lilibet since 2022. <\/p>\n
\nMeghan and the children did not make any public appearances during the visit.<\/p>\n
\nHarry and Meghan stepped back as senior working royals in 2020 before relocating to Montecito, California. <\/p>\n
\nSince then, Harry has continued his charitable work through the Invictus Games while also publishing Spare, in which he detailed longstanding tensions within the Royal family. <\/p>\n
