18 July 2026<\/time>\n <\/p>\nHannah Waddingham suffers from \u201cmum guilt\u201d.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nHannah Waddingham suffers from ‘mummy guilt’<\/p>\n\nWhile the 51-year-old Ted Lasso star loves her career, she admitted she finds it a struggle to be away from her 12-year-old daughter Kitty, who she shares with her ex-partner, Italian hotel manager and businessman Gianluca Cugnetto.<\/p>\n\nWhen asked if she ever suffers from mum guilt, Hannah told The Guardian newspaper: \u201cGod, all the time. I\u2019m about to go away to do press for the next season of Ted [Lasso], and the mummy guilt descends. But I have to try and combat it.\u201d <\/p>\n\nHannah admitted that is the main reason she has not done any stage work recently, saying: \u201cI don\u2019t think my daughter is ready. <\/p>\n \t\t\t<\/p>\n\n\u201cI need to find the time to be able to go, \u2018I\u2019m taking this coat off for now and I\u2019m putting my [stage] coat back on.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\nHannah does her best to show her daughter she is thinking of her, even when she is working, famously carrying a cardboard clutch made by Kitty on the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild awards, in 2024.<\/p>\n\nShe said: \u201cI picked it up and went, \u2018It\u2019s actually got more space in it than a normal, designer, ridiculous handbag, so I\u2019m going to take it up the red carpet.\u2019 I did it on purpose, to show her that she\u2019s never far away from me.\u201d<\/p>\n\nHannah brought her daughter with her to Prague for five months and enrolled her in an international school when she filmed her latest project, Ride or Die, with Octavia Spencer. <\/p>\n\nSpeaking about her character in the project, she said: \u201cShe\u2019s an assassin of some 30 years. I did 75 \u2013 80 per cent of my own stunts. But, it was partly not a good idea, because I did mangle myself senseless.<\/p>\n\n\u201cIt\u2019s about calling each other out, holding each other up, and showing that women in their 50s can be all things, when they decide to chop and change.\u201d<\/p>\n\nAnd, Hannah firmly believes that women can do anything at any age, citing her own success coming later in life.<\/p>\n\nShe said: \u201cI\u2019ve talked about it to a couple of people, who\u2019ve had that thing of the \u2018overnight success\u2019 later in their careers. There are a few of us who have been right in the belly of things, working in places that are not as la-di-da as you would have in TV. An overnight success after 25 years is delicious. And I\u2019m fine with it, because I\u2019m very at peace with who I am.
