Prime Video\u2019s God of War<\/em> will recast a lead role<\/a> after star Ryan Hurst<\/strong> suffered an injury on set.<\/a><\/p>\n

Multiple outlets confirmed on Friday, July 17, that Hurst, 50, previously tore a bicep<\/a> doing a stunt. He underwent surgery and is recovering after filming scenes as Kratos. The role is now going to be recast with a new actor due to the extent of Hurst\u2019s injury, according to Deadline<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

News broke in January that Hurst was joining the show alongside Callum Vinson<\/strong>, who plays Kratos\u2019 son, Atreus, on the show. Production on the series, which has been renewed for two seasons, began in Vancouver in February.<\/p>\n

God of War<\/em> follows \u201cfather and son Kratos and Atreus as they embark on a journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye,\u201d according to the official synopsis.<\/p>\n

Danny\u2019s (Wahlberg) journey in New York was featured on CBS\u2019 Blue Bloods, which ran from 2010 to 2024. The spinoff, which premiered in October, kicked off with Danny visiting Boston after Sean [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The description continued: \u201cThrough their adventures, Kratos tries to teach his son to be a better god, while Atreus tries to teach his father how to be a better human.\u201d<\/p>\n

The cast also includes Mandy Patinkin<\/strong> as Odin, Ed Skrein<\/strong> as Baldur, and Teresa Palme<\/strong>r as Sif. Max Parker, \u00d3lafur Darri \u00d3lafsson, Alastair Duncan<\/strong>, Jeff Gulka<\/strong> and Danny Woodburn<\/strong> round out the show.<\/p>\n
