Chloe Fineman<\/strong> is saying goodbye to Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/a>, announcing her exit after seven seasons.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter 7 wonderful seasons at SNL I have decided it\u2019s time for my next chapter,\u201d Fineman, 37, wrote via an Instagram statement<\/a> on Thursday, July 16. \u201cIt\u2019s cliche to say this but working at SNL has been the greatest privilege of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

The comedian<\/a>, who joined the sketch series in 2019, noted, \u201cI still can\u2019t really believe I got to be a part of it. I fell in love with the place the second I walked through the door.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fineman gave SNL<\/em> creator Lorne Michaels<\/strong><\/a> a shout-out as well, teasing that if he\u2019s \u201creading this on your burner account\u201d she wants him to know \u201cthat I am forever in your debt.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery day I was lucky enough to be surrounded by the best people in the business, and I was constantly amazed watching them work,\u201d Fineman recalled of her time on the NBC show. \u201cSewing a Jojo Siwa<\/strong> costume in 10 hours. Writing a cold open at 2pm on a Saturday. Finishing the VFX of a video minutes before dress (I don\u2019t know if \u2018finishing VFX\u2019 is the right technical term but you get the idea).\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress shared<\/a> that it\u2019s \u201cfunny looking back at it all now\u201d after being so immersed in her work for so long \u2014 and feeling every emotion that comes with live comedy shows.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the show you get so invested in everything you work on. You sob uncontrollably when your sketch isn\u2019t picked,\u201d Fineman revealed. \u201cYou storm into a producers office telling them they just made the biggest mistake of their lives. You call everyone you know to complain. And then you look back a few years later<\/a> and it was a sketch called \u2018lipstick for thicc dogs.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Fineman noted \u201cthat\u2019s just the show\u201d and something that she\u2019s learned to fully embrace during her tenure.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou respect it so much that you give it absolutely everything<\/a> you have even when it\u2019s incredibly stupid,\u201d the TV personality shared. \u201cSo you\u2019re ecstatic when it works out and the most devastated you\u2019ve ever been when it doesn\u2019t. And in the end it doesn\u2019t matter all that much but it did at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fineman confessed, \u201cIt\u2019s really hard to leave SNL<\/em> but it does feel like the right time. I\u2019m going to miss it a lot. But the people who work there are my family and that place is my home, and I know I\u2019ll never be too far away<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

She concluded her goodbye with a joke, writing, \u201cAnd I swear to God, one day, sometime in the future, they WILL make lipstick for thicc dogs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fineman began her time on SNL<\/em> during the 2019-2020 season<\/a>. She gained even more fame during the coronavirus pandemic shows, which were filmed remotely from the casts\u2019 homes in spring 2020, especially when she highlighted her impersonation skills.<\/p>\n

In the years that followed, Fineman was praised for her portrayals of celebrities including Drew Barrymore<\/strong>, Britney Spears<\/strong>, Jennifer Coolidge<\/strong> and SNL<\/em> alum Kate McKinnon<\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\n
