My parents had me at 40 and my Oma will never know the adult version of me,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/slxthkween\/status\/2068109197955445222\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote one user<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaving kids in your 40s is great because they come out all weird and autistic AND you\u2019re practically in a nursing home by the time they hit any major life milestones,\u201d another added.<\/p>\n<p>As you can see, some accounts engaged in behavior known as \u201cconcern trolling,\u201d feigning genuine consideration for Anne and her family.<\/p>\n<p>Others just spotted an opportunity to be cruel and didn\u2019t want to let it go to waste. Sadly, such behavior is quite common on social media.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">having kids in your 40s is great because they come out all weird and autistic AND youre practically in a nursing home by the time they hit any major life milestones <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6QRXa2ALm7\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/t.co\/6QRXa2ALm7<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 doomer (@uncledoomer) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/uncledoomer\/status\/2068346551471112613?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\">June 20, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The backlash is particularly vile as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2024\/04\/anne-hathaway-pregnant-woman-role-miscarried-not-alone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Anne has spoken about her fertility issues and miscarriages <\/a>in the past.<\/p>\n<p>Partially as a result of these issues, she began having children later than expected at the age of 33.<\/p>\n<p>And when she became a mom, she dedicated herself to it completely. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2024\/04\/anne-hathaway-im-5-years-sober-yay-for-me\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Anne got sober<\/a> so that she could devote all of her time and energy to her kids. By all accounts, she\u2019s a fantastic mom.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, this discourse has less to do with Anne than with the never-ending culture wars being waged across the social media landscape.<\/p>\n<p>The people who are angry that she\u2019s having a third child aren\u2019t really worried about what Anne\u2019s relationship with her kid will look like in 30 years. More likely, they\u2019re angry about whom she might have voted for in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The experience of an adult child wishing their parents had had them at an earlier age is rare to the point of being nearly non-existent \u2014 and the haters likely know that. But that\u2019s not gonna stop them from ranting and raving about the personal choices of someone they\u2019ll never meet.<\/p>\n<p>And while we don\u2019t want to get too morbid on a Monday morning, let\u2019s not forget that none of us is guaranteed tomorrow, and having kids at an early age does not necessarily mean you\u2019ll be there when they get married and have kids of their own.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, folks, we\u2019re all gonna check out at some point. <\/p>\n<p>And while there\u2019s not much to be gained by dwelling on that fact too often, it might be good to occasionally pause and reflect on the fact that there\u2019s no greater waste of our short time on this planet than being cruel to other people for no reason.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway! We\u2019d like to offer our sincere congratulations to Anne and Adam.
