Jessica Simpson<\/a><\/strong> has heard the rumors about her weight loss \u2014 and she has plenty of thoughts.<\/p>\n During an interview with Bustle<\/em><\/a>, which was published on Wednesday, July 5, the singer, 42, addressed social media comments calling her \u201ctoo skinny\u201d and theories about her using Ozempic to help with weight<\/a> management.<\/p>\n \u201cOh Lord \u2026 it is not [Ozempic],\u201d she told the outlet about her slimmer figure. \u201cIt\u2019s willpower. Do people want me to be drinking again? Because that\u2019s when I was heavier. Or they want me to be having another baby? My body can\u2019t do it.\u201d<\/p>\n Simpson admitted that \u201cit hurts\u201d to hear criticism regarding her weight<\/a>, adding, \u201cAm I going to let the negativity derail me? No, I\u2019m too old for that. I am too connected to myself right now to let that derail me. It doesn\u2019t mean that it doesn\u2019t hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued: \u201cI am fortunate to have been every size. For [my] brand, understanding the women [who buy our products], and for my psyche.\u201d<\/p>\n Ozempic \u2014 and similar off-brand versions of semaglutide \u2014 have recently been making waves as Hollywood stars have discussed their experience<\/a> with the diabetes medication. The FDA-approved injections are typically used to help Type 2 diabetes patients with weight management.<\/p>\n Simpson, for her part, has previously discussed her personal ups and downs<\/a> with weight. \u201cI just want to feel good and be able to zip my pants up,\u201d she said on the Today<\/em> show in April 2021 about not keeping a scale in her house. \u201cIf I don\u2019t, I have another size. I have every size. I\u2019ve really tried my hardest to not let that define me.\u201d<\/p>\n The actress, who shares daughters Maxwell, 11, and Birdie, 4, and son Ace, 10,<\/a> with husband Eric Johnson<\/strong><\/a>, revealed in April 2022 that she had gained and lost nearly 100 pounds<\/a> three separate times.<\/p>\n \u201cI was really proud [of myself for that post]. So I was like, \u2018Here I go, I\u2019m doing it.\u2019 \u2026 My babies are worth the weight gain. I\u2019m just the type of person that gains a lot of weight [while] pregnant, but I\u2019ve struggled [with it] my whole life, like, because of what, to me, was perfect or what I didn\u2019t have,\u201d Simpson exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> that same month. \u201cI really feel [that once] people started [to] embrace me at a bigger size, it made me very confident.
