14 July 2026<\/time>\n <\/p>\nKatie Thurston needs a liver biopsy as doctors are “at a loss” over her current test results.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nKatie Thurston needs a liver biopsy<\/p>\n\nThe Bachelorette star was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in February 2025 and discovered the following month that it had spread to her liver, but while she announced last month, there was “no evidence of disease” in the organ, she still has elevated enzyme levels so has had to stop taking some of her medication while her medical team look for an explanation.<\/p>\n\nShe wrote on Instagram: “Still trying to find my new norm. However, I\u2019ve had to pause Kisqali (cancer drug) since February in hopes of bringing my liver enzymes down. Despite the extended hold, they continue to stay elevated so later this month I\u2019ll have a liver biopsy and hopefully get more answers. In the meantime, enjoying life\u2019s moments.”<\/p>\n\nKatie further explained her current situation in an accompanying video.<\/p>\n \t\t\t<\/p>\n\nShe noted: \u201cIt\u2019s been about a year and a half since being diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, and I\u2019ve always wondered when will be the day that I stop talking about it. That day is not today.<\/p>\n\n“Three months since my double mastectomy will be the day of my liver biopsy.\u201d<\/p>\n\nKatie explained her medical team are “at a loss” over her test results.<\/p>\n\nShe said: “They can\u2019t figure it out. We actually had to pause my cancer meds for an extended period of time hoping that would help. It did not. So, basically, we\u2019re just kind of at a loss. We don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n\nThe 35-year-old beauty – who recently revealed she was taking antidepressants and was looking for a new therapist as part of a “mental health glow up” for the summer – admitted she was struggling while “just looking for answers”.<\/p>\n\nShe said: \u201cI full-on spiralled over the weekend about it.<\/p>\n\n\u201cRight about now is probably when I start getting emotional and crying on camera, but I also did start my Wellbutrin journey just about two months ago.”<\/p>\n\nDespite the situation with her health, Katie is still optimistic and focusing on her house renovation with husband Jeff Acuri.<\/p>\n\nShe said: \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to, you know, the future of medicine and the future of no evidence of disease, and, you know, whatever vaccines are coming.<\/p>\n\n\u201cWhen the time comes, I get to just distract myself with all house stuff, so that\u2019ll be nice…<\/p>\n\n\u201cI really look forward to the day I don\u2019t have to update you on my cancer stuff.
