\nThe Marvel Cinematic Universe favourite hailed the prowess of the director for being able to fit so much content into one film.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cFor anyone that\u2019s familiar with The Odyssey\u2026 turning it into a film feels like you\u2019d have to make five films [because] it\u2019s such a vast piece of work.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cBut Chris\u2019s ability to tell that story in 130 pages while maintaining the heart and the soul of what makes the story so exciting, so emotional, so relevant today, I think it\u2019s just such a feat…<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe way I see the film is that Telemachus and Penelope represent the reality of the story and Odysseus\u2019 side of the story \u2014 Matt\u2019s side of the story \u2014 represents the myth and this humongous game of telephone that has been played with this text.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWhat I love about the creative choices that Chris has made on that side of the story is that he\u2019s kind of pushed the boundaries of what might be deemed historically accurate or reality because that is the myth.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBoth Tom Hollands attended the London premiere of The Odyssey earlier this month but didn’t cross paths at the time.<\/p>\n
\nHowever, when the historian shared his thoughts on the film on social media, he hinted at a potential upcoming meeting.<\/p>\n
\nHe wrote on X: \u201cIt is by some way the best cinematic adaptation of a Greek myth I have ever seen.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt honours Homer while simultaneously making something new of him.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nOne commenter replied: \u201cBro, you\u2019re in it.”<\/p>\n
\nAnother joked: \u201cIf Tom Holland meets Tom Holland the universe may implode.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nTom replied: \u201cYes, just imagine if that happened.\u201d<\/p>\n
