The new\u00a0Jennifer Garner<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0drama series hit\u00a0Peacock<\/strong><\/a> on Thursday (July 9), starring\u00a0D\u2019Arcy Carden<\/strong>,\u00a0Gemma Chan<\/strong>,\u00a0Regina Hall<\/strong>,\u00a0Chlo\u00eb Sevigny<\/strong>,\u00a0Harlow Jane<\/strong>, and\u00a0Timothy Olyphant<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The cast also includes\u00a0Rob Huebel, David Denman, Josh Hamilton, West Duchovny, Judy Greer, Tory Devon Smith, Morrison Keddie,<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Roberta Colindrez<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The series is \u201ccentered on Hollis Shaw (Garner<\/strong>), a famed cook and best-selling author known for her delicious recipes, impeccable taste, and warm demeanor, who suffers a devastating loss.\u201d<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a synopsis: \u201cUnable to move forward, the death starts to expose the cracks in Hollis\u2019s picture-perfect life\u2014her strained marriage, her complicated relationship with her daughter, and her growing pursuit of validation from her fans. In an effort to overcome grief and find herself again, Hollis gets the idea to host a weekend away at her house on Nantucket with three friends from different stages in her life: her childhood, her twenties, thirties, and one surprise fifth star. Set against a luxurious and coastal backdrop, the stars will mature in ways they could never imagine as boundaries are pushed and secrets are exposed.\u201d<\/p>\n

The show already started off to strong reviews. But will it be getting a second season?<\/p>\n

The Five Star Weekend <\/em>has not yet been renewed for Season 2, but the showrunner wants to do more seasons.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Showrunner Bekah Brunstetter<\/strong> recently spoke out about the potential for more seasons in an interview with TheWrap<\/a>, including exploring the relationship between Hollis and Jack (Timothy Olyphant<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

\u201cMy hope is that if we get to do more seasons, I can dig into that a little bit more, because the first season is definitely the story of her grief \u2014 I\u2019m really interested to see what their relationship would actually be like once they have the second chance,\u201d she explained, adding details about what the pitch was for more seasons.<\/p>\n

According to the showrunner, the producers are interested in each season following the characters in a different vacation destination, and potentially a “new fifth star.”<\/p>\n

“They could go on vacations forever,\u201d she teased.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou could just find someone who really wants to do it, some amazing actor who\u2019s really interested in doing this, and \u2026 talk to them about what they want to play and what they feel like their strengths are and what they\u2019re interested in,\u201d she speculated, adding that it won’t be Gigi (Gemma Chan<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

“She\u2019s not going to be coming on the weekend, but I don\u2019t think she\u2019s gone forever,” the showrunner noted, adding that Electra (Judy Greer<\/strong>) wouldn’t be the fifth either, but maybe she can be a running gag, and \u201cno matter where they are, she shows up.\u201d<\/p>\n
