Sam Neill<\/strong><\/a> has sadly passed away, his family confirms in a statement.<\/p>\n

The New Zealand actor died on Monday (July 13) in Sydney, Australia. He was 78 years old. <\/p>\n

His family released a statement following his passing.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with immense sadness that the wh?nau [family] of Sam Neill<\/strong> share the news of his passing on Monday 13th July, in Sydney, Australia. Sam<\/strong> was surrounded by family and passed with the dignity that has characterised his whole life,\u201d his family shared in a statement, via Variety<\/a><\/em>. \u201cThe loss was sudden and unexpected but blessed by the fact that Sam<\/strong> remained cancer free. They would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at St Vincent\u2019s Private Hospital for their incredible care. More details will be shared later, but for now, on behalf of the family, we ask that you respect their privacy as they navigate this immeasurable loss.\u201d<\/p>\n

Back in April, Sam<\/strong> revealed that he was cancer-free<\/a> after undergoing CAR T-cell therapy. He was diagnosed with stage three blood cancer<\/a> in March 2022.<\/p>\n

Sam<\/strong> is perhaps best known for starring as Dr Alan Grant in the original Jurassic Park <\/em>trilogy. He then reprised his role in 2022’s Jurassic World Dominion<\/em>. Earlier this year, he reunited with co-stars Jeff Goldblum<\/strong> and Laura Dern<\/strong> in the Xfinity Super Bowl ad<\/a>.<\/p>\n

More recently, he starred in the series The Twelve<\/em>, Untamed<\/em> and Apples Never Fall<\/em>. <\/p>\n

Sam has two movies that are currently in the works and will now be released posthumously. He will star in The Last Resort<\/em> with Daisy Ridley<\/strong>, Alden Ehrenreich<\/strong>, and more. <\/p>\n

He will also be starring in the upcoming Godzilla x Kong: Supernova<\/em> alongside Dan Stevens<\/strong>, Kaitlyn Dever<\/strong>, Jack O’Connell<\/strong>, Delroy Lindo<\/strong>, and more. <\/p>\n
